Consultation, UBC Visits & Interview Support

Drawing on doctoral study at UBC and the experience of moving abroad with family, I help visitors and prospective graduate students prepare for informed conversations in Vancouver.

Support options

UBC campus and research environment visits

We clarify your purpose, plan a practical route, and support communication during visits to the UBC campus or relevant sites such as UBC Farm.

Interview coordination and interpretation

Support can include contact requests, purpose and schedule coordination, question development, on-site assistance, Japanese-English interpretation, and agreed follow-up.

Graduate-study and research-abroad consultation

Topics may include PhD structures, finding supervisors, contacting faculty, transitioning from industry to doctoral study, research life at UBC, and preparing for a move with family.

Selected support delivered

  • UBC campus and research environment visits

Purpose-led routes and local communication support.

  • Coordination, accompaniment, and interpretation

Support for interviews with a UBC faculty member in psychology and a local fire department.

  • Graduate study and research abroad

One-to-one discussions covering research choices and practical preparation.

Arranged and forthcoming

Interview appointments have been arranged with a faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business and a faculty member in sociology at UBC. These are listed separately because the interviews have not yet taken place.

How it works

  1. Clarify

Share your goals, timing, participants, and language needs.

  2. Prepare

Agree on scope, route, contacts, questions, and on-site support.

  3. Meet

Hold the consultation or visit, with follow-up information where agreed.
